Choose the dining arrangement first, then match linens to the actual table size. Round tables create smaller conversation groups; rectangular tables can form longer shared dining arrangements. The best choice is the one that works with your guest list, meal service and tent layout.

Two table styles to consider for a tent reception
| Choice | Planning advantage | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Round tables | Smaller conversation groups and a natural center for décor | Room around every table for occupied chairs and circulation |
| Rectangular tables | Flexible rows or shared-table dining | Aisles, table-end seating and space for shared dishes |
Do not assume one shape automatically seats more people in the same tent. A useful comparison includes the actual tables, chairs, walkways and everything else under cover.
541 Jump’s catalog includes 5-foot round tables, 8-foot gray tables and 8-foot wood tables. Check the selected item’s dimensions and date-specific availability before finalizing quantities.
Linen drop = (tablecloth diameter − tabletop diameter) ÷ 2. A 5-foot round tabletop is 60 inches across. That gives the following nominal drops when the cloth is centered:
Round linen drop on a 60-inch-diameter tabletop
| Round cloth | Calculation | Drop per side |
|---|---|---|
| 90 inches | (90 − 60) ÷ 2 | 15 inches |
| 108 inches | (108 − 60) ÷ 2 | 24 inches |
| 120 inches | (120 − 60) ÷ 2 | 30 inches |
A 30-inch drop reaches the floor only if the tabletop is 30 inches above it. Confirm the actual table height and linen dimensions; fabric, hems and ground conditions can affect the finished appearance. These are sizing calculations, not guarantees about an individual rental item.
For a rectangular cloth, calculate the drop at the long sides and the ends separately:
A label such as “8-foot tablecloth” does not tell you the finished drop by itself. Match the cloth to the chosen tabletop’s length, width and height, and say whether you want a shorter overhang or a floor-length look. You can view the 8-foot tablecloth listing and ask the team to confirm the fit.
Make separate lines for guest dining, the sweetheart or head table, buffet, drinks, desserts, gifts and a welcome station. Give each table a purpose, then add a linen only if that part of your design needs one.
For example, a plan with ten dining tables, two buffet tables, one dessert table and one welcome table uses fourteen tables. If all fourteen will be covered, the linen list needs fourteen cloths—but not necessarily fourteen of the same size.
Ask the caterer which service tables they bring and what they need you to supply. That conversation can prevent ordering the same table twice or overlooking a work surface.
Choose one main linen color, one napkin accent and one centerpiece approach. Start with a single sample place setting, leaving room for plates, glasses and any shared food. If the sample feels crowded, simplify it before repeating the arrangement across every table.
Browse 20-inch napkins with the linens rather than choosing them in isolation. Confirm the available colors and quantities for your date; a catalog listing is not a reservation.
For an outdoor setup, ask how the chosen linens should be handled and kept clear of guest routes. Do not attach fabric or décor to the tent structure without approval.
541 Jump serves Klamath Falls, Chiloquin, Bonanza, Keno, Merrill, Malin and Dairy. Start with your date, location and approximate guest count. We can help choose table styles, quantities and matching linens; a finished rental list is not needed to ask about options.
If the ceremony and reception overlap, count their chairs separately. See our wedding-rental planning page for coordinating both spaces, then browse the current rental selection or call (541) 581-0453.
A 120-inch round cloth gives a nominal 30-inch drop on a 60-inch tabletop. It is floor-length only when the tabletop height matches that drop, so confirm both measurements.
Yes, as a layout idea. For example, round guest tables can be paired with rectangular serving tables. Check the complete arrangement and match each linen to its table.
Do not assume they are. Check your written quote for each table, chair and linen quantity and the specific items included.
